Naarden + Hawthorne is a strategic advisory specializing in issues management, corporate communications, and external affairs.
We draw on decades of senior-level experience in high-stakes financial and regulatory markets, where the cost of a wrong message, a missed signal, or a mismanaged narrative can be measured in real consequences.
We work with companies navigating complex environments: regulatory pressure, reputational risk, legislative challenges, or moments where clarity and credibility matter most.
Our work helps clients protect what they've built, articulate what they stand for, and tell their story in ways that are compelling, authentic, and built for scrutiny.
The Name
The name Naarden comes from a medieval fortified town in the Netherlands, distinctive for its star-shaped moat and the town enclosed within it — a geometry so unique it is visible from the air for miles.
During World War II, Allied bomber crews flying home from raids over Germany became deeply familiar with the Dutch landscape. The coast. The Zuider Zee. And then, below them, Naarden. The familiar shape was a beacon. For those exhausted crews, that was enough. They were going to make it. They were headed home.
A beacon. That's what this firm aspires to be for its clients.
